Strata 3D Animation Software

Strata 3D was one of the first commercial 3D animation programs available. The new version, CX, has several layers of features including modeling, lighting, animating, texturing, and of course, rendering. Rendering is where Strata shines, producing dramatically realistic rendered images. The software does tend to render quite slowly, but is great for producing production quality high res images and short animations.

Strata’s interface will appeal to those familiar with Photoshop, as they are similar in many ways. The software is most suited for 3D logos and artwork, exporting files in Adobe Illistrator, EPS, and/or Flash format. As far as price goes, Strata is available for around $700 U.S. While most artists would be satisfied with using Strata 3D, there are other programs available with just as many features for less money.
