The Center for Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University offers extensive, practical, hands-on, career oriented education and training in the rapidly emerging digital arts fields of Photography, Digital Filmmaking, Graphic & Web Design, Audio Production and 3D Animation.

3D Animation Certificate

Learn the skills required to become a digital animator with CDIA’s 3D Animation Certificate program. Starting with the fundamentals of illustration, conceptualization, composition and figure drawing, you’ll develop practical skills as you master Maya 3D, the leading 3D animation software. Working with this popular tool, you’ll get hands-on practice in creating 3D models, animations and scenes. Teaming up with your classmates, you’ll develop a short animated subject and work on the many elements that go into its creation. By the end of the course, you’ll have a rendered short suitable for a beginning portfolio or demo reel, complete with associated models, textures and animations.
